Cathy Come Home (Ken Loach, 1966)
Ken Loach’s feature length debut, while originally aired on the BBC this feature film is a brilliant social commentary on the state of politics and the government at the time. The film is absolutely mindblowing, the incredibly strong themes of family and governmental betrayal are so painstakingly at the forefront of this film by the last scenes of the film it’s so hard to watch. Brilliant film and one of the best to ever come from this soil. 10/10
